Kumar as most of us already know recently assumed the office of the President of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC, England) for the year 2019-2020.   MCC is the most active Cricket Club in the world; the owner of the Lord’s Cricket Ground and regarded as the guardian of the laws of the game of Cricket. In fact the MCC had to break their traditions to make this appointment which had only hither-to been held by an Englishman. This simply shows the esteem with which the cricketing fraternity across the world holds this legend of our times and the proud son of Mother Lanka.

The pursuit of perfection, relentless practice, self-discipline and the mental toughness specially in difficult times have been Sangas greatest strengths. While these factors have been his most significant attributes towards success over the years, the eloquence with which he handles Sinhala, his mother tongue and the second language English is a gift bestowed on this special human being.

Just thought of writing these few lines as a mark of respect to this great man.
